Leaky Hatches???

Does anyones trunk leak really bad??? Mine has a lil puddle back there don't know where it's coming from but i can see water drip out from under the panels. Anyone know the fix for this please let me know!!

I had the same problem! Good thing there was nothing back there at the time...
The water came in through my tail lights, I had them out and when I put them pack in I just finger tightend the bolts and forgot to tighten them, the car sat overnight in the rain and in the morning half the spare tire well was filled with water. Just check that your tail lights are tight and the foam around them is in good shape...

Yeah mine are tight but the foam isn't new but they don't look too bad like they need replacing.

Hey, thats weird, i have the same problem. Although i have a 4 door, my trunk leaks!!! And i have no freakin clue where its coming from! When i leave stuff in there for a day or 2 it gets damp. I hope my sub doesnt get messed up from this whacky occurance. Sorry i couldnt help you, just lettin you know your not alone smile

Try taking your lights out and make sure the foam is where it should be, if its out of place a little water will come in...
I had no idea where the water was coming from im my car. Try getting inside the car and have someone spray the back with a hose and see if you can see where it is getting in. If you have to take the pannels out...

man i have the same problem..it's SOOOO annoying. my lights are freakin tight, everything is tight...i can't figure out what's going on frown

I've never had the problem with my SiR, but my GL had the tail light issue. Water was actually coming into the lights and filling up the lenses until it came out of the bulb holder. My solution was to drill a 5mm hole in the bottom of the lights as drainage. It worked for me smile

Me too. you should see what that water does to road flares kept with the spare tire....yuck.

Aight peeps - yeah...even the trunk on the 4-door leaks..I have taken my center piece off the trunk about 4 times and resealed it. The foam around the reverse lights (reminder: this is the 4-door, but I am sure the hatches are similarly constructed) sucks and doesn't seal out the rain...even if it looks OK. I used A LOT of silicone and also used the silicone on the studs/nuts that bolt the center reflector piece to the trunk and re-sealed it all. I think the constant trunk slamming causes it to move around and lose the seal pretty easily.
I have to do this about every 2 years when I notice water dripping in. It especially likes to do it when I open the trunk and it has collected in the little grey thingies that hold the bulbs and stuff in the trunk lid and then drips on my head just as I am leaning in to put shit in or out of the trunk mad
